When the daily cleaning became profitable

Bomhus Energi is the bio-power plant in Gävle, built to produce economical and environmentally friendly energy with requirements for a good and safe working environment. The plant is half owned by the municipally owned Gävle energi and BillerudKorsnäs. With Bomhus Energi, the two operations have a joint facility that both secures steam supplies to industry and the need for hot water for the district heating network and electricity in the area of Gävle. A boiler and turbine are divided between two operations, thus creating efficient less resource-intensive production.

Avoid malfunctions

Daily cleaning routines are an important part of Bomhus Energi’s security policy. All risks of malfunctions shall be eliminated to safely supply district heating and electricity to subscribers. Dust and wood shavings risk stopping production and there are high demands in terms of efficiency and safety in a cleaning system. 

SOLUTION

Robust vacuum system throughout the plant

The cooperation with DISAB resulted in efficient and robust cleaning equipment that runs throughout the facility. The cleaning system consists of a stationary piping system in combination with vacuum units with associated filter separators and pre-separators. A vacuum unit is mobile and can thus be moved around the plant as needed.

The system is very flexible and has virtually no limitations. The suction sockets are strategically placed so that operators easily reach all surfaces to be kept free of dust and dirt. All absorbed material is transported via closed piping systems to containers for a dust-free collection. If the need arises to increase capacity, an external and mobile vacuum suction can be easily plugged in.

With the vacuum system, the cleaning capacity can be easily moved anywhere in the facility, which makes it easier for operators and saves valuable time.
