THE STEEL MILLS’ CHALLENGE
With high demands on clean-up and recycling, steel mills have a though challenge when it comes to material waste. Because how do one collect waste quickly and efficiently, without the wear on operators/workers and creating a better work environment? This is where a vacuum loader comes into the picture.
CHALLENGE
Long downtimes during clean-up
In the steel, metal and cement industries, dust and industrial waste can cause major problems. Material waste affects product quality and service intervals on production equipment, but also risks extending stop times and service times when cleanup is required. Often the waste material is also valuable and reusable. But it takes strong action for efficient cleaning in the steel industry.
SOLUTION
Efficient and environmentally friendly
With a DISAB vacuum loader, dust, spillage and waste can be cleaned up and collected in an efficient and environmentally friendly way. The powerful vacuum technology is often used when materials are spilled out and need to be quickly collected, but also in general cleaning and transport.
“Thanks to the high suction capacity, we are doing a good job with our customers in the steel industry.”
Alain Railton, Hanson Support Services
With and easy-to-operate hose arm and high suction capacity, the vacuum loader takes on the most difficult-to-handle materials. Hanson Support Services in the UK has long used DISAB vacuum loaders to carry out the maintenance work for its customers, several of whom operate in the steel industry. With a fleet of five DISAB Centurions, the daily tasks are facilitated for the operators.

RESULTS
Can handle heavy materials
Cleaning, transport, collection and recycling – everything goes more smoothly with a vacuum loader, according to Alain Railton, Production Manager at Hanson Support Services. The company uses the high suction capacity with several of its customers, but the steel mills have particularly high demands on clean-ups and recycling. Though and heavy jobs that a DISAB vacuum loader can handle. The vacuum system is closed and all waste is sucked directly into the container, ready for transport or emptying.
