When the impossible becomes possible
Billy Bowie Special Projects is the company in Glasgow, Scotland that offers most thing to do with cleaning. Billy Bowie empties septic tanks, handles dry and liquid waste and cleans waterworks. Assignments are often difficult to access, and it is not infrequently the drivers encounter challenges. The key to success has come to be different vacuum loaders.
CHALLENGE
When capacity and flexibility is a requirement on vacuum loaders
Hard-to-reach places and seemingly impossible missions. It’s the daily life of the Billy Bowie Special Project. Assignments ranging from emptying and cleaning an oil platform to emptying septic tanks 300 meters into the forest or sucking up 300 tons of material for cleaning wastewater treatment plants put the methods to the test. The tasks simply require machines with capacity and flexibility.
SOLUTION
Vacuum loaders customized for the task
Billy Bowie Special Projects has long had several vacuum loaders from DISAB in its machinery. The pace is to update the fleer every year and the business strives to keep the machinery in good condition. After six years, the machines are replaced and operations manager Alisdair Clark is particularly pleased with DISAB’s resale value market..
“DISAB will always be the first choice for us.”
Alisdair Clark, Billy Bowie Special Projects
Some vacuum loaders have been tailored with the business challenges in focus. For example, a vacuum loader with a larger tank size was developed, sufficient to withstand the large masses that cleaning wastewater treatment plants entails. With the help of vacuum loaders with high vacuum capacity, Billy Bowie can carry out work that seems impossible. The mobile vacuum extractors access in inaccessible spaces and maintain the high suction capacity, regardless of the length of the suction hose.
RESULTS
Versatility meets the challenges
Alisdair Clark believes that they always send out vacuum loaders from DISAB, to assignments that require a little extra. The main advantage is the high vacuum capacity, which is about 95% vacuum compared to many other vacuum loaders. Alisdair highlights one example where DISAB’s versatility stood out in the crowd – when a tank on an oil platform would be cleaned. 75 meters of suction hose was required to reach the platform and another 60 meters to reach the tank. Despite the distance, the suction power kept its capacity and the cleaning was smooth and easy.
